Jim McCaughan, Chief Executive Officer
Jim McCaughan is the CEO of Principal Global Investors. He also serves as president of global asset management for the Principal Financial Group. In this capacity Mr. McCaughan oversees investment activities across asset classes and market regions, with primary responsibility for the strategic development of Principal's asset management business globally. He has nearly three decades of experience in the investment management industry. Mr. McCaughan received a bachelor's and master's degrees in mathematics from the University of Cambridge (Pembroke College).

Michelle Valfells, Managing Director
Michelle Valfells is the Managing Director of Kaupthing Asset Management S.à.r.l. in Geneva, Switzerland. She holds a BA degree in economics and art history from Georgetown University (1986), a postgraduate diploma in the history of art from Oxford University (1987), as well as an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France (1991). She has acted as the portfolio manager of Artemis Holdings since its inception in 2002 as the Fund-of-Hedge Funds of Kaupthing Bank. Ms. Valfells advises Kaupthing Bank’s private and institutional clients on their portfolio allocations to hedge fund strategies.

Thórdur graduated with a BA in philosophy from the University of Iceland and with an MBA from the University of Delaware, He has worked for Kaupthing since 1999. From 2000-2001 Thórdur was the Director of Research at Kaupthing. Between 2001-2003 he served as Director of Corporate Banking at Kaupthing Copenhagen. Since May 2003 Thórdur has acted as the Director of Research in Kaupthing Bank.

Hrafn Arnason is currently Head of the Icelandic Equities Team at Kaupthing Bank Asset Management in Reykjavik as well as Head of Fund Management at Kaupthing Bank Asset Management in Reykjavik. He has over seven years of experience in the Icelandic equity market. Prior to joining Kaupthing Bank he served as Head of Fund Management at Landsbanki Asset Management. Hrafn graduated from the University of Iceland in 1998, with a Cand.oceon. in business and finance.
